TUD Rent A Car 1. Renting Requirements The renter must be at least 21 years of age and present valid personal identification (passport or ID) and a valid driving license with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience. The rented vehicle may be driven only by the person(s) listed and authorized in the Rental Agreement. In certain cases, an exception may be made for drivers under 21 years of age; however, this must be requested and approved in advance by TUD Rent A Car. 2. Additional Driver TUD Rent A Car does not charge an additional fee for a second driver. However, the renter must inform us in advance so the additional driver can be included in the rental contract. Only drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle. 3. Delivery and Collection Vehicles can be picked up from the TUD Rent A Car office in Skopje or delivered to Skopje International Airport or another agreed location in or around Skopje, as well as in Ohrid and Ohrid Airport. All deliveries and collections outside the office are subject to prior agreement and availability. 4. Payment No advance payment or deposit is required. Payment is made upon vehicle pick-up, either in cash or by credit card. Payments may be made in foreign currency, subject to the applicable exchange rate. 5. Cancellation Policy Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before the start of the rental period. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before pick-up may be subject to a cancellation fee. 6. Fuel Policy Fuel consumption is the responsibility of the renter. The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the time of pick-up. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged for the missing amount. 7. Insurance All vehicles include a Basic Insurance Package with an excess of up to €500, provided free of charge. This means that in case of damage, the renter’s responsibility is limited to €500, while any amount exceeding this is covered by TUD Rent A Car. Optional insurance packages are available: MEDIUM Insurance Package – €250 excess for €5 per day FULL Insurance Package – €0 excess for €15 per day Insurance coverage may become invalid if the renter violates traffic laws, rental terms, or fails to follow accident procedures. 8. Technical Problems All vehicles are regularly maintained and kept in good technical condition. In the event of a technical problem, the renter must immediately contact TUD Rent A Car using the telephone numbers provided in the rental contract. Failure to notify TUD Rent A Car in a timely manner may result in the renter being held responsible for any additional damage or costs. 9. In Case of an Accident In the event of an accident, the renter must: Immediately contact TUD Rent A Car using the emergency phone numbers stated in the rental contract. Call the Police at +389 2 192 and request an official accident report (evidence protocol). The police report is mandatory. If no official police protocol is provided, insurance coverage (including third-party insurance) may be invalid. 10. Traffic Fines and Violations The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking violations, toll charges, and penalties incurred during the rental period, including those received after the vehicle is returned. Any fines or related costs paid or processed by TUD Rent A Car on behalf of the renter will be charged to the renter, and an administrative handling fee may apply. 11. Border Crossing Rules Driving the rented vehicle outside the borders of North Macedonia is strictly prohibited unless prior written authorization is obtained from TUD Rent A Car. If border crossing is approved: The renter must inform us at the time of reservation Required documentation (Green Card / authorization papers) will be provided An additional border-crossing fee may apply\ Unauthorized border crossing will result in: Immediate termination of the rental agreement Loss of insurance coverage Full financial responsibility of the renter for all damages, fines, recovery, and transport costs 12. Liability for Legal Violations The renter agrees to comply with all traffic laws and regulations in the country where the vehicle is driven. TUD Rent A Car shall not be held liable for any legal consequences, penalties, delays, or costs resulting from violations committed by the renter or authorized drivers. 13. Amendments TUD Rent A Car reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. 14. Governing Law These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of North Macedonia. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of North Macedonia.
